Start Your Journey to Wellness Today!
Established in 1984, our practice has been dedicated to serving the community with holistic health care, focusing on spinal health and injury recovery. Our founder, Bruce A. Parker, D.C., has been a chiropractor in Malibu since 1984. His journey to practicing chiropractic began after an injury in high school varsity sports, which led him to seek holistic solutions that would later become his passion.
Bruce A. Parker, D.C., moved to Malibu in 1984 to begin his chiropractic studies in LA and started working with Dr. Byron Ferguson out on Point Dume. As he completed his studies, he joined Dr. Christian Reichardt in the middle of Malibu, which expanded into an office with Darrell Yoshihara, D.C., Jesse Hanley, M.D., Marcus Laux, N.D., Janet Zand O.M.D., all of which became the Malibu Health Center. This was a great opportunity for Bruce to practice in a completely holistic environment.
In 1992, Bruce joined Malibu Health and Rehab, his current location, to focus on spinal health and injury recovery. Since then, he has been dedicated to providing the best possible care to his patients.

About Chiro
Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. Chiropractors use spinal manipulation and other alternative treatments, the theory being that proper alignment of the musculoskeletal structure, especially the spine, will enable the body to heal itself without surgery or medication.
History of Chiropractic
Chiropractic care has been around for thousands of years, dating back to ancient civilizations. However, the modern version of chiropractic as we know it today was founded in 1895 by Daniel David Palmer, a Canadian-American magnetic healer. Palmer performed the first recorded chiropractic adjustment on a partially deaf janitor, restoring his hearing in the process. Since then, chiropractic care has evolved into a holistic approach to health that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine.
How It Works
Chiropractic care works by manipulating the spine and other joints to improve range of motion and reduce pain and inflammation. Chiropractors use various techniques, including spinal manipulation, massage, and physical therapy, to help the body heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery. By maintaining proper alignment of the musculoskeletal structure, especially the spine, chiropractors can help prevent mechanical disorders and promote overall health and wellness.
What Is a Subluxation?
A subluxation is a misalignment of the vertebrae in the spine that can put pressure on the nerves, causing pain and inflammation. Subluxations can be caused by a variety of factors, including injury, poor posture, and repetitive strain. Chiropractors use spinal manipulation and other techniques to correct subluxations and restore proper alignment to the spine.
Spinal Degeneration
Spinal degeneration is a natural process that occurs as we age. It can cause the discs in the spine to wear down, leading to pain and inflammation. Chiropractic care can help slow down the process of spinal degeneration by maintaining proper alignment of the spine and promoting overall health and wellness.
Wellness Tips
Maintaining good health requires a combination of regular exercise, a balanced diet, and proper rest. Here are some wellness tips to help you stay healthy:
1. Eat a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
2. Exercise regularly, aiming for at least 30 minutes of moderate activity per day.
3. Get enough sleep, aiming for 7-9 hours per night.
4. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day.
5. Practice good posture to reduce strain on your muscles and joints.
6. Take regular breaks to stretch and move around, especially if you have a desk job.
Educational Videos
We offer a variety of educational videos to help you understand more about chiropractic care and how it can benefit your health. From explanations of common conditions to demonstrations of various techniques, our videos are designed to educate and empower you with the knowledge you need to make informed decisions about your health.
Exercise Videos
In addition to chiropractic care, exercise is an important part of maintaining good health. Our exercise videos feature a variety of stretches and exercises that you can do at home to improve your flexibility, strength, and overall wellness. Whether you're looking for a quick workout or a way to relieve stress, our exercise videos have something for everyone.
3-D Spine
Our 3-D spine model is a visual representation of the spine that helps us understand how the vertebrae interact with each other. By studying the 3-D spine, chiropractors can better understand the mechanics of the spine and how to correct misalignments and promote proper alignment.
