About Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care has a rich history, dating back to the late 19th century. The word "chiropractic" is derived from the Greek words "cheir" (hand) and "praktos" (done) combined to mean "done by hand." In 1895, D.D. Palmer performed a chiropractic adjustment on a partially deaf janitor, Harvey Lillard, who later reported that his hearing had improved due to the change. Palmer opened the first chiropractic school two years later, and in the century since, chiropractic professionals have used spinal adjustments to help people prevent and cope with back pain, carpal tunnel, muscle strain, headaches, and migraines, and a variety of other physical ailments.

About Dr. Ivan Cohen

Dr. Ivan Cohen is a renowned chiropractor who is certified in AMA Impairment Rating, Physiological Therapeutics, and Florida Workers Comp. He is a member of the Florida Chiropractic Association, Belle Glade Chamber of Commerce, and Clewiston Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Cohen graduated Life College of Chiropractic, earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Prior to earning his professional DC degree, his undergraduate studies were completed at The University of Maryland. He is well regarded by his patients and peers as caring, thoughtful, and professional.

Pain Management Physician

We also have a dedicated pain management physician, Dr. Jonathan M. Tarrash, MD, who is a graduate of SUNY Binghamton with honors as Phi Beta Kappa. He is a Diplomate with the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as a subspecialty Board Certification in Pain Medicine. He completed his internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, an elective in sports medicine at University of Miami Doctors' Hospital and his residency at Jack Whaler Hospital Division of the Albert Einstein School of Medicine.
